Tulsa's Harrington Earns Player Of The Week 12/26/99

Tulsa guard Greg Harrington, a sophomore from Carrollton, Texas (Newman Smith HS), was named the MVP of the Puerto Rico Holiday Classic as Tulsa won the title with victories over Boston College, UNC-Charlotte and 11th-ranked Tennessee. Harrington averaged 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting .640 (16-25) from the field and .750 (6-8) from beyond the three-point line in the three games.

In the title game against Tennessee, Harrington scored a game-high 22 points, pulled down six rebounds and had three steals. It was the first loss of the season for Tennessee. Other nominations from Dec. 20-26, included: senior guard Courtney Alexander, Fresno State; senior forward/center Marquette Alexander; and junior forward Billy Landram, San Jose State.
