Tulsa's Harrington Named Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

DENVER, COLO. - Tulsa guard Greg Harrington has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week.

Harrington, a sophomore from Carrollton, Texas (Newman Smith HS), hit 87 percent of his shots from the field (13-of-15) in a pair of road wins for the Golden Hurricane last week. He was also 4-of-5 from three-point range, 6-of-7 from the free throw line and averaged 18.0 points per game. In a 75-67 win at Creighton, Harrington had 15 points and five assists. At Rice, he had a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds and three assists in the 67-49 victory. Tulsa is 16-1 on the season and ranked 17th in this week 's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll.

Other nominations included: senior forward Terrance Roberson, Fresno State; senior forward/center Marquette Alexander, Hawai`i; and junior guard Jeryl Sasser, SMU.
