SMU freshman Flavia Rigamonti has been named the Western Athletic Conference athlete of the week for womens swimming and diving.
Rigamonti, a native of Breganzona, Switzerland, shattered the pool record in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:40.84 on Nov. 16. The previous mark at SMUs Perkins Natatorium was 9:44.92. The Mustangs went on to win the dual meet with Texas A&M by a score of 143.5-99.5.
Alyssa Chin of Nevada was also nominated for the award.
