Tulsas Stacy Prammanasudh and SMUs Franklin Hatchett have been selected as the Western Athletic Conference October Players of the Month in golf.
Prammanasudh, a senior from Enid, Okla., captured medallist honors in two tournaments last month. In a field of 80 golfers at the Big XII Invitational, she scored rounds of 71-72-70 for a three-under par 213. Then at the Stanford Womens Intercollegiate, Prammanasudh carded a course record 13-under par 203 with rounds of 67-69-67 to finish first in a field of 90 golfers. The win marked the eighth of her career.
Nevadas Meghan Ingalls and UTEPs Leslie Hawley were also nominated for the award.
Hatchett, a senior from Jacksonville, Texas, won the Stonebridge Invitational for the second consecutive year. He shot rounds of 68-69-71 for an eight-under par 208. Hatchett also nabbed two top-five finishes at the Red River and Duke Classics. In a field of 84 golfers at the Red River Classic, Hatchett tied for fourth with a 207. He followed that performance with a tie for fifth at the Duke Classic, shooting 72-77-71 for a score of 220.
Also nominated were Fresno States Jonathan Echols, Louisiana Techs Brad Wright, Nevadas Sprague Kolp, and Tulsas Chris Noel.
