Shri Sudhakara of Tulsa has been named the Western Athletic Conference Mens Tennis Player of the Month for October.
Sudhakara, a senior from Bangalore, India, posted a 7-2 singles record in October and teamed up with Dane McGregor to go 6-0 in doubles. At the Omni Hotels Region V Tennis Championships, Sudhakara and McGregor won five straight matches and defeated Oklahoma States 45th-ranked tandem of Prentice and Krepelka in the championship match. In the same tournament, Sudhakara dropped the first match in the main singles draw but posted five wins to capture the back draw championship.
Sudhakaras record for the fall season is 7-5 in singles and 8-0 in doubles with McGregor.
Also nominated were Boise State sophomore Guillaume Bouvier, Nevada senior Chad Stoloff and Rice sophomore Richard Barker.
