WAC mens and womens cross country teams are primed for the NCAA Regional Cross Country Championships to be held at campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 10. WAC schools are included in four of the nine regions. The top two teams from each region and the top four individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 19 at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. The men will run a 10K race while the women will run a 6K race.
In the Midwest regional, Tulsa will compete at Southern Illinois Univ. in Carbondale, Ill. Two WAC teams, Rice and SMU, will participate in the South Central regional held at Texas A&M Univ. in College Station, Texas. Brigham Young Univ. is hosting the Mountain regional in Provo, Utah, where Nevada (women only) and UTEP will represent the WAC. The west regional, held at the Univ. of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., will include Boise State, Fresno State, Hawai`i (women only) and San Jose State.
