Hawai'i sophomore Kim Willoughby was named to the AVCA All-Region team, representing the West Region. The middle blocker has also earned Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and WAC Tournament MVP honors this season.
Willoughby was the only player from the WAC named to the team. Long Beach State and Colorado State each had four players named, while two came from Pacific and one from Mountain West Champion Utah.
Willoughby leads the nation in kills per game with 7.15 kpg and 815 kills overall. Her 815 kills put her in seventh place on the NCAA all-time list for kills in a season, while the 7.15 kpg places her in fourth all time. The Napoleanville, La., native has already broken the school and conference records for kills in a season.
Willoughby is now eligible to earn All-American honors. The All-American team will be announced on Wednesday, December 12. This is the first time the sophomore has earned all-region honors.
