Fossatti and Rogalsky Named Softball Players of the Week 02/02/01

Fresno States Lindsay Fossatti and Loyola Marymounts Corrianne Rogalsky have been named the Western Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Fossatti, a senior third baseman from Tustin, Calif. (Foothill HS), batted .385 (5-for-13) in five games at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. She scored two runs, drove in six, hit two home runs and walked four times (two intentional). In the tournament opener against Missouri, Fossatti went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Against Georgia, she connected for a pair of two-run home runs and finished the game going 3-for-4, scoring two runs and adding five RBI. It marked Fossattis first career multiple home run game.

Rogalsky, a junior righthander from San Diego, Calif. (Tennessee-Chattanooga), went 2-0 last week, posting two wins over Virginia. In 8.0 innings pitched, she allowed three hits, walked four, struck out four and allowed no earned runs. Rogalsky limited the opposition to a .125 batting average. In game one against Virginia, she threw her fourth shutout and fifth complete game of the season, limiting the Cavaliers to three singles. In game two, she made a relief appearance, shutting out Virginia in the eighth inning.
