Several WAC Records Set in San Antonio:
Conference, meet and Palo Alto Natatorium records were broken by Sarah Chandler of SMU in the 200 breaststroke with a new time of 2:11.89 and teammate and Freshman of the Year Georgina Lee in the 500 freestyle (4:43.89). Mustang Andrea Cassidy broke all three records in the 400 IM in 4:16.91.

Lee's winning time of 1:56.49 in the 200 fly was a new meet and pool record, while the SMU 800 free relay (Lee, Lisa and Lotta Wanberg and McCall Dorr) clocked a new meet and pool record of 7:13.17.

Pool records were set by Hawai'i's Renate DuPlessis in the 100 fly (53.91), Chandler in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.89), SMUs 200 medley relay (Anu Koivisto, Chandler, Dallas Marshall and Katina Maistrellis) with a time of 1:40.98 and Hawai'i's 200 freestyle relay (Sarah Simonsen, Lori Thomas, Sara Watchorn and DuPlessis) in 1:31.09. Maistrellis 22.62 in the lead off split of the 200 free relay was a pool record.

NEXT STOP....NATIONALS:

SMU clinched its fifth consecutive WAC title behind the guidance of Coach of the Year Steve Collins. The 11th-ranked Mustangs dominated the meet, automatically qualifying its 800 free relay and seven swimmers for seven events. DuPlessis will represent the 23rd-ranked Hawai'i Wahine at NCAAs in the 100 fly. Several other swimmers narrowly missed the automatic cut and have posted solid provisional marks.
