DALLAS - Tulsa wrapped up its second straight Western Athletic Conference Championship on April 25, shooting a 306-283-275=864 to hold off the competition. In second was TCU with a 301-290-298=889. San Jose finished third with a 302-292-300=894, while Nevada finished with a 912 total in fourth. Host SMU finished fifth, having shot a 948. Hawaii (950) and UTEP (954) rounded out the field in sixth and seventh, respectively.
Top individual, Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh, who fired a 4-under-par 68 in the final round, was the only player to record a sub-par total, talling a 5-under-par 211. Two shots behind her was Marcela Leon of San Jose State with a 73-71-74=218. Rounding off the top five was TCU's Courtney Wood with a 75-70-74=219 and Tulsa's Suzie Fisher and Maiko Senda, who both shot a 220
to tie for fifth. For her outstanding season, Prammanasudh was named WAC Player of the Year.
The Freshman of the Year honor went to Wood as Coach of the Year was given to Melissa McNamara of Tulsa.
Named to the WAC's first team All-Conference were Shannon Barr - TCU, Suzie Fisher - Tulsa, Stacey Prammanasudh - Tulsa, Courtney Wood - TCU, and Angie Yoon - Nevada. Second team All-Conference include: Brenda Anderson - TCU, Jessica Krantz - San Jose State, Marcela Leon - San Jose State, Jennifer Patterson - TCU, and Maiko Senda - Tulsa.
