UTEP's Perkova Named Women's Tennis Player of the Week 04/03

DENVER UTEPs Jana Perkova has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 26-April 1.
Perkova, a senior from Liberec, Czech Republic, reached a career plateau last week, notching her 17th and career-high 18th singles victories against No. 53 New Mexico State and Memphis. Only the 16th Miner to record 18 victories, Perkova moved into sole possession of sixth place on the all-time win list at UTEP with 55.

Paired with Ana Brnas, the duo went 3-0 in doubles action last week, cleaning up at the No. 1 spot in matches against No. 67 Long Beach State, New Mexico State and Memphis to run Perkovas career wins to 52, which ranks fourth all-time at UTEP. Currently 17-11 in doubles, she and Brnas combined for a 14-7 record, including a 10-4 dual mark.

Nearing the end of her collegiate career, Perkova ranks fifth on the UTEP career combined wins list with 107 and is only the fourth player in school history to reach 50 career singles wins and 50 career doubles wins.
