Acosta, a 5-9 senior setter from Chihuahua City, Mexico (Univ. del Valle), keyed UTEP to home victories over SMU and TCU. With the victories, the Miners have won five-straight and improved to 14-13 overall, 6-8 in the WAC.

For the week, Acosta averaged 12.14 assists, 1.86 kills, 3.00 digs, 0.86 blocks and hit .500 (13-1-24). She also added three service aces. Against SMU, Acosta hit .667 (6-0-9) to go along with 46 assists, one service ace, eight digs and five total blocks. Against TCU, she hit .400 (7-1-15) and added 39 assists, two service aces, 13 digs and one block assist.

Acosta currently ranks third in the WAC in service aces (0.34 sapg), fourth in assists (12.19 apg) and eighth in digs (2.92 dpg).
