WAC Cross Country Athletes of the Week
Mens Cross Country
Tulsa sophomore Owain Matthews helped lead his team to a second-place finish at the Baylor Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 22. Out of a field of 82 runners, Matthews posted a fourth-place individual finish with a time of 25:57. This was the Luton, England, natives first meet of the season.
Womens Cross Country
Ana Martinez, a senior from King City, Calif., ended up with a second-place individual finish to lead San Jose State to a fourth-place finish out of 22 teams at the UC Davis Invitational. Her time of 17:54 was one of only two times under 18 minutes. Martinez was the top collegiate and WAC finisher in the meet. Nevada and Fresno State also competed.
