DENVER Nevada guard Terrance Green has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens basketball player of the week for Jan. 7-13.
Green, a junior from Portland, Ore. (Benson HS), scored 25 points, dished out six assists and grabbed four rebounds in an 88-85 win over Fresno State. He was 9-of-17 (.529) from the field, 3-of-9 from three-point range and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Green played 35 minutes and scored nearly 10 points more than his season average (16.1).
The other nominations were sophomore guard Bryan Defares, Boise State; senior guard Mike McIntyre, Hawaii; junior guard Michael Wilder, Louisiana Tech; freshman guard Brock Gillespie, Rice; junior guard Brandon Hawkins, San Jose State; and senior guard Greg Harrington, Tulsa.
