Others Nominated
Nevada senior Brandy Reichardt won the 50 free and the 100 free in a double dual meet against San Diego and San Jose State last weekend. She swam season-best times of 24.72 in the 50 and 54.92 in the 100.

Up Next
Five of the six WAC teams are in action this week, with SMU leading off with a dual meet against arch-rival TCU on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The Mustangs will host the Frogs at Perkins Natatorium at 7:00 p.m. Then on Friday, SMU travels to Houston to face WAC opponent Rice at 7:00 p.m., followed by Houston on Saturday afternoon. Also on Saturday, Jan. 26, Fresno State meets Oregon State; Hawai`i faces Washington and Nevada swims against Washington State. Rice meets Texas A&M to round out the weekend.

Poll Position
Following losses to Arizona and Georgia, SMU dropped to ninth in the poll released on Jan. 17. Arizona is currently ranked third, while the Bulldogs come in at fifth. The next poll will be released on Jan. 31, followed by Feb. 14 and Mar. 7.

Splashes
Hawai`i junior Morgan Hoesterey earned two firsts and a second in a double dual meet against UNLV and San Diego State. Though the team lost both meets, Hoesterey won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.05 and the 100 freestyle in 53.54. She took second in the 50 free with a time of 24.25. Freshman Katia Sarakatsani won the 200 free in 1:54.66... After winning dual meets against San Jose State (143-141) and San Diego (148-113), Nevada improved its dual-meet record to 9-1. The Wolf Packs only loss was to Oregon State (150-114) on Nov. 10... Rice won all 11 swimming events in a 149-88 victory over Houston last Saturday. Toni Ciffolilli swam Rices fastest time of the season in the 200 backstroke, clocking in at 2:08.09... San Jose State has a dual-meet record of 4-3 after splitting a double dual meet last weekend. The Spartans fell to WAC opponent Nevada (143-141) but defeated San Diego, 153-121... SMU dropped another meet to a top-ranked team, losing to fifth-ranked and defending national champion Georgia last week in Athens, Ga. The Mustangs look to rebound this week before finishing the regular season against second-ranked Texas on Feb. 9.
