RUSTON - Louisiana Tech Head Coach Leon Barmore has suspended senior forward Ayana Walker for one game following an on-the-court incident in the Lady Techsters win over Tulsa.
Walker, who is averaging 12.9 points and 8.8 rebounds this season, will not play against UTEP Thursday night in El Paso after throwing an elbow in the second half of a 77-46 victory over the Golden Hurricane.
The Houston, Texas, native and preseason Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year will return to action Saturday night when the Lady Techsters travel to Boise State.
