HOUSTON - Preseason WAC favorite Rice is ranked 10th in the 2002 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason poll, released by the organization today. Nevada also made the top 35 coming in at 33rd.
Voting on the weekly NCBWA poll is conducted by a select panel of the organizations members. The first poll of the 2002 season has representation by several different conferences and top independents among the 279 baseball-playing schools in the NCAA Division I ranks. Weekly polls will continue each Monday through the end of the College World Series.
