DENVER Hawaii striker Natasha Kai and goalkeeper Mahie Atay have been named the Western Athletic Conference womens soccer offensive and defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Kai, a freshman from Kahuku, Oahu, earned her second player of the week award, helping the Wahine to a 2-0 conference start. She posted just the second hat trick in school history against Tulsa, scoring three times in a 6-0 win. Kai registered nine points on the week, including 12 shots. She is now the schools freshman record holder for points (20), goals (9) and shots (61).
Atay, a freshman from Wailuku, Maui, gathered two shutouts in the Wahines first weekend of conference play. She made 12 saves in over 160 minutes of play and has not allowed a goal in over 205 minutes of action.
