PLAYER OF THE MONTH Chloe Carlotti, a sophomore from Paris, France, swept both the singles and doubles at the Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic. She earned a 5-0 singles record and 4-0 doubles record for the Bulldogs in the month of September. Carlotti defeated 33rd-ranked Catherine Lynch of California in the semifinals. She later knocked off Cals 18th-ranked Raquel Kops-Jones in the finals. With teammate Lucia Tallo, the pair defeated Lynch and Kops-Jones in the doubles final.
OTHERS NOMINATED Boise State's Renate Stoop went 6-1 over the course of two tournaments this fall ... she also went 3-1 with doubles partner Alissa Ayling and 1-1 with Anna Curtolo ... Holly Ready of Louisiana Tech won two of three singles matches to finish third in the Single Flight 3 at the Texas Tennis Championships ... she also combined with teammate Lauren Longbothom to go 2-1 in doubles ... Rices Stephanie Moat won the Brtonze Singles Flight at the Lady Razorback Invite ... she rallied from a set down in both the semifinals and finals for the tournament win ... Aleksandra Durska of Tulsa became the Hurricanes school career leader for singles wins with her 5-7, 6-0, 6-0 victory of Paige Brown of Kansas ... she went 6-0 in singles play and 6-2 in doubles for the month.
WAC TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN BOISE This season, the Western Athletic Conference Tournament will be held in Boise, Idaho at the Appleton Tennis Courts on the campus of Boise State, April 25-27. The 2002 champion Fresno State Bulldogs will look to defend thier title.
CARLOTTI RANKED IN ITAS TOP 25 Fresno State sophomore Chloe Carlotti has been ranked 24th in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Singles preseason rankings. Carlotti, a Paris, France native went 33-16 last season, advancing to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Along with her singles ranking, Carlottis double partner and her are ranked 34th.
DURSKA BECOMES HURRICANE LEADER Tulsa senior Aleksandra Durska became the schools career leader for singles wins with her 5-7, 6-0, 6-0 win over Paige Brown of Kansas. Durska, with a career singles record of 93-29 (.762), surpassed former Cane Jennifer DeSpain (1997-2001) for the career-leader spot.
