GOLFER OF THE MONTH UTEP's Annie Mallory, a junior from Fredericton, New Brunswick, finished in the top five at two tournament in October. Mallory tied for fourth at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational and took third at the Bronco Fall Classic; the Miners finished second at both events. Mallory record a 75.40 stroke average for the month.
OTHERS NOMINATED Alana Condon of Nevada finished second at the Heather Farr Memorial and first the Bronco Fall Classic in October. Her 74.10 stroke average leads the WAC ... Erin Simmons of SMU finished in the top ten in two out of the three tournaments the Mustangs competed in. She grabbed a ninth-place finish at the Lady Razorback Invite and tied for third at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invite ... Christine Fernandez of Tulsa, in just her third collegiate tournament, finished 17th at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
WAC TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN HONOLULU The 2002 WAC Tournament will hosted by Honolulu in Hawaii, April 21-23. Tulsa won the 02 crown by 25 strokes over San Jose State. Tulsa senior Stacy Prammanasudh took home the individual crown by 11strokes over fellow Hurricanes Maiko Senda and Dani Mallon.
CONDON, FIRST TO TAKE HOME TITLE Alana Condon, a junior from Renton, Wash., became the first WAC woman to take home an individual title, as she led Nevada to a win at the Bronco Fall Classic. Condon took home top honors shooting an even-par 144.
