GOLFER OF THE MONTH Christine Fernandez, a freshman from Henderson, Nev., grabbed third in the field of 60 golfers at the Landfall Tradition. In leading the Hurricane to the team title, Fernandez carded rounds of 75-71-74 for a 220, giving her the best finish of the season in just four collegiate tournaments.

SMUS MICKEY CHO TO TURN PRO SMU women's golfer Mickey Cho has decided to forego her collegiate career and will now turn her sights upon a professional career on the LPGA Tour. Cho appeared in three tournaments this past fall for the Mustangs, posting a stroke average of 81.1. She finished tied for 18th in the team's final event of the fall, the Mission Inn Fall Classic.

CONDON, FIRST TO TAKE HOME TITLE Alana Condon, a junior from Renton, Wash., became the first WAC woman this season to take home an individual title, as she led Nevada to a win at the Bronco Fall Classic. Condon took home top honors shooting an even-par 144.

WAC TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN KAPOLEI The 2003 WAC Tournament will hosted by the Univeristy of Hawaii in Kapolei, Hawai'i, April 21-23. The championship will be held at the Kapolei Golf Course in Kapolei, Hawaii. Tulsa won the 2002 crown by 25 strokes over San Jose State. Tulsa senior Stacy Prammanasudh took home the individual crown by 11strokes over fellow Hurricanes Maiko Senda and Dani Mallon.
