Nevada's Jezernik Named Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week (Feb. 13)

DENVER Nevadas Tjasa Jezernik has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens tennis player of the week.

Jezernik, a senior from Celje, Slovina, played in the No. 1 position for the Wolf Pack, winning both of her singles matches against Santa Clara 6-3, 6-2. She also paired up with teammate Biljana Trpeska to win her doubles competition, helping her team beat Santa Clara, 4-3.
Jezerniks next match is scheduled for Feb., 20, against Oregon.

Other womens nominations; Anabella Duque of Louisiana Tech, helped her team to notch their first victory of the season, by winning both of her singles matches and as well as her doubles match against Southern Miss. Rices Natalie Braud posted the only singles win for her Owls in a match against Alabama. SMUs Nadia Vaughn won in straight sets in both of her singles matches against UT-Pan Am and earned another win in doubles against ACU.
