Anabella Duque of Louisiana Tech, helped her team to notch their first victory of the season, by winning both of her singles matches and as well as her doubles match against Southern Miss. Rices Natalie Braud posted the only singles win for her Owls in a match against Alabama, winning 6-3, 7-6 (5). SMUs Nadia Vaughn had a dominating performance for the Mustangs, winning in straight sets in both of her singles matches against UT-Pan Am and earned another win in doubles against ACU.

Ranked Teams
WAC teams faced six opponents ranked in the top 50 last week, but only emerged 1-5. This week the teams look to have better outings against the nations best. No. 17 Fresno State faces No. 11 UCLA after coming going 1-2 against the top 50 last week. No. 45 SMU is scheduled to square off against No. 26 Florida International. SMU lost last week to then No. 28 LSU. Rice faces No. 48 Arkansas this week, after suffering a loss to No. 19 Texas A&M on Feb. 9. Tulsa faced then No. 46 Arkansas, losing 3-4.
