Cricket Williams - San Jose State
DENVER San Jose States Cricket Williams has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 11-Feb. 17.

The sophomore from New Orleans, La., (St. Marys Academy) became the second Spartan to earn the honor this season after Elea AGiza was named player of the week on Dec. 31.

Williams, who leads the WAC in scoring, averaged 21.0 points as the Spartans upset Tulsa and Rice last week. The Hurricane and the Owls have been among the leagues leaders all season. The guard scored 22 points with seven rebounds and a career-high seven steals against Rice. She added 20 points and nine assists against Tulsa.

Williams currently averages 18.4 points a game to lead the WAC, two points higher than UTEPs Kimya Murray in second place. Williams also leads the league in steals, averaging 3.36 a game and is second in assists, averaging 6.0 a game.

Also nominated: Heather Little, Boise State; Lindsay Logan, Fresno State; Chelsea Wagner, Hawai`i; Cheryl Ford, Louisiana Tech and Katie Golomb, Nevada.
