The UTEP Men and the Rice women were both crowned champions at the 2002 Indoor WAC Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon. The events were held in Reno, Nev., at the Livestock Events Center.
On the men's side UTEP ran away with championship, scoring 203 points. Rice was the nearest competitor taking second place with 139 points, while Fresno State rounded out the top three with 116.33
For the women, Rice was the favorite to win and did so, totalling 141 points. Taking second was Nevada with 121, while third place went to SMU who finished the event with 94 points.
