Boise States Renate Stoop has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens tennis player of the week.
Stoop, a junior from Amstelveen, Sweden, earned a straight-set win over No. 26 Washington States Stacy McKenna. McKenna, who is 45th in the nation, was defeated by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Stoop helped her team to a 4-2 upset over the Cougars and a 9-2 record on the season.
Stoops next match is scheduled for March 15 at the Barbara Chandler Classic in Boise, Idaho.
