WAC Lands Four All-Americans in First Day of Swimming & Diving NCAA's
After the first day of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, the Western Athletic Conference has four All-Americans. The event is being held at Joe Jamail Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

Through the first day of competition, Auburn leads the field with 153 points, followed by defending champions, Georgia with 127. SMU is tenth with 41.

SMU's freshman swimmer, 2002 WAC Swimmer of the Year, Flavia Rigamonti is the first to take gold, as she won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:40.13. Also in the 500 free, Mustang Georgina Lee took 12th, coming in at 4:45.44, giving her honorable mention honors.

Also for SMU, Alenka Kejzar took third in the 200 individual medley, touching the mat in a time of 1:56.38.

2002 WAC Swimmer of the Year, Mandy Mularz of Rice took second in the 50 freestyle, with a time of 22.17, came in .48 seconds behind Georgia's Correia Maritza, who set a new NCAA record time of 21.69.
