Boise States Guillaume Bouvier has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens tennis player of the week.
Bouvier, a sophomore from Lyon, France, led the Broncos going undefeated from the No. 2 position. He defeated Nevadas Rudy Leuschner 6-2, 6-0, New Mexico States Ben Newcombe 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, and New Mexicos Bart Scott 6-4, 6-4. Bouvier also teamed up with Jonny Biorkman to go 2-0, defeating Nevada 8-1 and New Mexico State 9-8.
Bouviers next match will be against BYU, March 30.
Others Nominated: Hawai`is Malino Oda helped Warrior head coach Jim Schwitters earn his 800th career win, by beating Oklahomas No 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Harding Brumby of Rice played in his first collegiate dual match, and posted a three-set win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Nevadas Chad Stoloff won at the No. 1 position, when his opponent retired with an injured shoulder.
