SMUs Jenny Langer went 2-0 in a sweep of Houston and Rice. Yasmin Fisher of Rice went 2-0, twice recovering from first-set losses. UTEPs Callie Dand won 6-1, 6-0 against UC Irvine in her singles match and won 8-1 in her doubles, with teammate Elisa Bjorklund to move to 9-2 on the season. Nevadas Vania Apodaca won both of her singles matches at the No. 2 spot. Boise States Renate Stoop went 2-0 in her singles matches, as well as 2-0 from her doubles.

Tulsa suffered two losses, one to LSU, 5-2 and another to No. 21Texas A&M , 5-2, but bounced back to beat WAC foe Rice, 4-3. Fresno State knocked off instate rival No. 16 USC and Harvard, 6-1. Hawai`i fell to the No. 37 Cougars of Washington State, 7-0 and Arkansas, 5-2. San Jose State picked up one win, defeating Southern Utah, 6-1, while at the UC Irvine Invitational, they split, beating UC San Diego 4-3, but falling to Nevada, 5-2. Boise State fell to New Mexico, 4-3, but came back to beat CS Fullerton, to gain their 13th win. Rice suffered three losses, falling to No. 49 Iowa, 6-1 and WAC rivals Tulsa and SMU, 4-3. SMU picked up a pair of wins, defeating Houston, 5-2 and Rice, 4-3. Nevada won both its matches, defeating San Jose State and Cal Poly, 5-2. UTEP made it to the finals of the UC Irvine Invitational, losing to UC Irvine, 4-2. On their way to the championship, the Miners knocked off Idaho State, 5-2 and Cal Poly, 4-3. The wins, helped move the Miners to a 64 ranking, their highest since April 1999. Louisiana Tech picked up a win against Akron, 4-3

Tulsas McMurray Reaches Milestone
The No. 51 Tulsa women's tennis team improved to 6-2 this season and made Hurricane head coach Paige McMurray the winningest tennis coach in school history with a 5-2 victory over the University of Texas-Arlington. With the win, McMurray surpassed former women's coach and current men's head coach, Vince Westbrook, for first place among Tulsas career coaching leaders with her 53rd career victory.
