Hawaiis Malino Oda helped Warrior head coach Jim Schwitters earn his 800th career win, by beating Oklahomas No 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. He has earned six wins in his last seven matches. Harding Brumby of Rice played in his first collegiate dual match, and posted a three-set win from the five position over Louisiana-Lafayette. The win gave the Owls their fourth point and the match, for their first win in six matches. Nevadas Chad Stoloff won at the No. 1 position, when his opponent David Coetezee retired with an injured shoulder.

SMU began a three-match shutout streak with Columbia, beating them 7-0. The Mustangs continued by defeating Wichita State, 7-0 and Illinios-Chicago,5-0. The Mustangs suffered their only loss to now No. 1 Georgia. Hawaii kept busy, defeating St. Marys and Cal Poly, 5-2. The Warriors suffered two losses, one to Stanford, 6-1 and another to UC Santa Barbara, 4-3. Boise State headed to Albuquerque, N.M. for the New Mexico Tournament. The Broncos landed three wins, defeating Nevada, 7-0, New Mexico State, 4-2 and host New Mexico, 4-3. Tulsa had a pair of tough matches, taking on No. 10 Texas A&M and No. 8 Texas, losing 5-2, 6-1, resectively. Rice hosted their invitational, but suffered two losses in three matches. The Owls lost to No. 39 Virginia Tech, 4-1 and No. 51 Oklahoma State, 4-3. The defeated Louisiana-Lafayette in the tournament conclusion, 4-3. Fresno State avenged an early-season loss to Harvard, defeating the No. 31 ranked team, 5-2 to grab their first win in eight matches.

Schwitters Lands 800 Ws
Hawai`i head coach, Jim Schwitters earned his 800th win, March 19, in a 6-1 win over Oklahoma. Schwitters is the winningest coach in collegiate tennis, owning a 800-393-8 record in 36 years as the mens head coach. He also owns a 1,258-552-8 overall record, combining both mens and womens tennis.
