Tulsas Alicia Pillay has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens tennis player of the week.
Pillay, a junior from Pietermaritzbyrg, South Africa, led the Golden Hurricane to a 3-0 record. From the No. 1 position, she was 3-0 in singles, including a win over 12th ranked Sarah Borwell of Houston, as well as 3-0 in doubles with partner Jana Sedivec.
Pillays next match is scheduled for April 3, against Oklahoma State.
Other Nominations; Noelle Lee of San Jose State grabbed three wins at the UC Irvine Invitational. UTEPs Joanna Furdyna went 3-1 last week from the No. 2 position.
