Alicia Pillay of Tulsa went 2-0 from the singles spot and 1-1 from the doubles, helping the Hurricane to a 1-1 record. Nevadas Tjasa Jezernik went 1-1 from the No. 1 position in both the singles and doubles.

WAC Roundup
At the Reno Classic, it was a pre-WAC Championship tournament. Fresno State, SMU and Nevada squared off. Fresno State won both of its matches, defeating SMU, 4-0 and Nevada, 7-0. SMU defeated Nevada, 4-3 along with the Fresno State loss. Nevada suffered two losses, falling to both Fresno State and SMU. Louisiana Tech suffered a pair of losses, falling to Centenary, 5-2 and to North Texas, 6-1. San Jose State stayed in California, but found no comfort, losing to Cal Poly, 6-1, to UC Riverside, 5-2 and to San Francisco, 4-3. Rice earned a pair of victories on the same day, defeating Arkansas-Little Rock, 4-3 and TAMU-Corpus Christi, 7-0. Tulsa won their only match, knocking off Tulane, 4-3. UTEP loss its make-up match to NMSU, 5-2.

Tulsa faces No. 26 TCU on Saturday, April 13.

WAC Championship Warmups
Many WAC teams are facing each other in preperation for the WAC Championship coming up in two weeks. Hawai`i takes on Nevada and San Jose State squares off with UTEP on Friday, April 12. Hawai`i then heads to San Jose State for a match, while Nevada faces UTEP on Saturday. Rounding out the three-day swing, Hawai`i takes on UTEP, while Nevada takes on San Jose State on Sunday. SMU and Tulsa face off on Monday, April 15.

WAC Championship
Tulsa, Okla., and the Michael D. Case Center will play host to the 2002 WAC Mens and Womens Tennis Championship. Each school will compete in the single elimination style tournament. The women begin play at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, with the play in round. The finals are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28.

WAC Seeding
Seeding for the championship is based on season play, head-to-head competition and schedule strength. All member coaches will seed to their discretion and a compilation of the rankings will determine each schools seed.
