WomenYuliya Kostina of UTEP set a school record in the pole vault, clearing 15-5 . Nevadas Sara Coleman took third in the javelin with a distance of 144-9. Fresno States Crystal Simmons took first in both the triple and long jumps at the Bob Mathias Fresno Relays. She also won the 110m hurdles with a hand-held time of 14.2

74th Annual Bob Mathias Fresno RelaysFresno State competed in the Bob Mathias Fresno Relays, held in Fresno, Calif. For the men, senior Roosevelt Cook won two events, taking first in the 800m with a time of 1:53.13, and the mile in 4:18.31. Kevin Carano, Kyrah Ayers and Kyle Carano finished two, three, four, respectively in the triple jump, with Kevin Caranos jump clearing 47- 3/4. For the women, Crystal Simmons won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.2. She also took first in both the long jump and triple jump. She cleared 18-6 in the long jump and 42-2 in the triple. Kristin Schelir placed first in the shot put with a distance of 45-11 1/4. For Boise State three-time NCAA All-American Mark Hoxmeier improved his season best mark in the discus with a 193-8 throw at the Fresno Relays in California. Hoxmeier also had a mark in the shot put of 61-1.
Bob Gibb InvitationalBoise State won 19 events at the Bob Gibb Invitational. Stellan Kjellander set a school record in the mens hammer with a throw of 196-3 (59.81m), breaking his own Boise State record of 191-2 (58.28m) set just two weeks ago in Tucson, Ariz. Ray Ardill won the mens 100m with a time of 10.68, and the mens 200m in a time of 21.2. Sally Vail won the 200m, and the 100m hurdles. Her 200-meter time was 24.1, while her time in the hurdles was 13.9. Abbey Elsberry won the womens shot put and hammer throw with marks of 44-4.25 and 183-7, respectively.
75th Annual Clyde Little Texas RelaysThe Clyde Little Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, played host to six WAC schools. For Louisiana Tech, Carlos Eugene didnt disappoint with a final leap of 506.75. The distance was strong enough for a third place finish and a top showing for WAC athletes. Rices Ryan Harlans preliminary time in the 110m hurdles of 14.20 is tops in the WAC this season. In the mens long jump, Vaughn Walwyn posted a leap of 24-09 , the second best leap in the WAC. On the womens side, the 1,600 meter sprint medley relay Rice took second with a time of 3:48.85. Allison Beckford won the 400 meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 57.46. For Nevada, Sara Coleman finished third in the javelin, throwing it 144-9. SMUs throwers Irache Quintanal, Ruta Rakstyte, Hannes Hopley and Janus Robberts all recorded NCAA-qualifying marks Quintanal and Rakstyte each qualified in the womens shot put with heaves of 16.01m and 15.77m, respectively. The tosses were good for fourth and sixth places. Hopley and Robberts finished third and fourth, respectively, in the discus with tosses of 57.82m and 57.40m. Irache Quintanal also took third in the womens discus with an NCAA-qualifying mark of 51.34m. Libor Charfreitag won the mens hammer with an NCAA-qualifying toss of 74.38m. UTEPs Laure Gremillet, who entered the weekend ranked ninth in the NCAA, tossed a NCAA provisional qualifying throw of (58.09m). Dario Espinoza won the 3,000m steeplechase, giving UTEP the winner the second-consecutive season. Tulsas Shanna Robinson finished sixth in the 100m with a time of 11.74. Seventy-seven runners took part in the race.
