DENVER SMUs Libor Charfreitag has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens track and field athlete of the week.
Charfreitag, a senior from Trnava, Slovakia, won the hammer throw with an NCAA-qualifying toss of 74.38m at the 75th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The throw is the longest in the WAC by eight meters.
Charfretiags next event is at the Mt. SAC Relays, April 13.
Others Nominated: Dario Espinoza of UTEP won the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 9;01.31, at the Texas Relays.
