Fresno State Women's Tennis Named to Field of 64

The NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Committee announced the field of 64 teams playing in for National Championship. Fresno State was the lone WAC team invited to the championship. There were also three singles and two doubles teams selected.

The first and second rounds will be played on May 10-12. The championship will be played in Stanford, Calif., at Stanford on May 16-19.

Fresno State (15-5) won the WAC Championship to assure themselves of a place in the field of 64. They will face Washington State (11-10), who they beat on March 10. Along with WSU, The Bulldogs head to Berkley, Calif., where the winner will face the California/BYU winner. Fresno State is led by Kim Niggemeyer and Chloe Carlotti, who were both selected to play in the singles bracket.

Along with Niggemeyer and Carlotti, Tulsa's Alicia Pillay will also be in the singles competition.

In doubles play, Fresno State's Niggemeyer and Simone Jardim will compete, along with the duo of Helen Lawson and Renate Stoop of Boise State
