CHICAGO - A day after being named the WAC's Pitcher of the Week, San Jose State's Jeremy Rogelstad was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) National Pitcher of the Week. Rogelstad shared the award with Rutgers senior RHP Tom Wheeler. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.
Rogelstad, a senior from Benicia, Calif. (Benicia HS), dominated No. 9 Stanford on May 1, throwing a complete game shutout in the 12-0 victory. Rogelstad (7-4) allowed just six hits and a walk while striking out six. It was just his second win in his last nine appearances.
