DENVER Fresno States Fernando Cabada and SMUs Karin van Rooyen have been named the Western Athletic Conference mens and womens cross country Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Cabada, a junior from Clovis, Calif., finished in 14th at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 24:16 in the 8k race. This is the third time this season he has been the top Bulldog finisher. He helped the Bulldogs to a 15th place finish.
van Rooyen, a sophomore from Lothiar, South Africa, grabbed a third place finish at the Stanford Invitational in the 4k event, with a time of 13:55. The event had 105 runners competing. She helped the Mustangs to a sixth-place finish.
