DENVER Fresno States Kristi Collins has been named the Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week.
Collins, a junior from South Lake Tahoe, Calif., set a new career and team season best in the 200 Fly with a mark of 2:07.73. She also notched a Bulldog season best in the 200 I.M. (2:12.04), helping Fresno State to a 126-111 win over San Diego. Collins was also apart of the 400 Medley Relay team that posted a season-high mark of 3:54.25 in the first-place effort. In the, 158.5-141.5, win over UC Irvine, Collins won the 100 Fly (59.78) and tied for first in the 200 Fly (2:08.09). In swimming the third leg of the 200 Medley Relay, she helped the Bulldogs to a new meet-record time of 1:48.54.
