DENVER SMUs Einar Hjartsorn has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Hjartsorn, a freshman from Reylyarik, Iceland, won the high jump in his SMU debut at the Leornard Hilton Memorial in Houston. The jump of 2.16m (7-1) is the second-best indoor high jump mark in SMU school history.
Along with Hjartsorn, two other Mustangs picked up wins in Houston. Lukas Musil won the 800m in 1:51.97 and Matt McKinney won the shot at 16.28m.

DENVER SMUs LaVada Hill has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Hill, a senior from Lufkin, Texas, won the long jump in SMUs season opener at the Leornard Hilton Memorial in Houston, with a jump of 6.02m (19-9). Hill also grabbed second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.35m (40-6 ).
Along with Hill, Zivile Pukstiene earned a win in her SMU debut, taking honors in the triple jump with a 12.73m (41-9 ) effort.
