Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week (Jan. 27)

DENVER SMUs Mindi Pukstas has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Pukstas, a junior from Kaunas, Lithuania, set a school and meet record with a time of 7:59.06 in the 3,000 meters, taking first at the Iowa State Classic. He broke the old school mark by over three seconds and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships.

Tulsas Shana Robinson has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Robinson, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., improved her provisional-qualifying mark in the 60 meters to 7.38 at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. Her mark is a new school record, breaking her old time of 7.41. Robinson also finished fourth in the 200 meters.
