DENVER SMUs Georgina Lee has been named the Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week.

Lee, a senior from Birmingham, England, had a standout weekend at the highly competitive Texas A&M Invite in College Station, Texas. With six top 20 teams in action, Lee shined capturing victory in the 400 free on day one. Day two saw Lee finish second in both the 100 fly and 200 free, gaining NCAA provisional times in both. Lee also swam the third leg of SMUs winning 800 free relay team that set a new school sc meter record en route to its victory. On day three, Lee finished third in the 200 fly, gaining another NCAA provisional qualifying time in the event. She later swam the anchor fourth leg of SMU's victorious 400 free relay team, that also set a school sc meter record as it captured gold. Lee is a 17-time All-American, the 2003 WAC Swimmer of the Year, the 2001 WAC Freshman of the Year, and a 2003 Verizona All-American first team selection.
