DENVER Tulsa forward Anthony Price has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens basketball player of the week for November 24-30.
Price, a sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas (The Woodlands HS), averaged 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in a pair of road games last week. In an 81-73 loss against 14th-ranked Oklahoma, Price scored 12 points and had three rebounds. He followed that up with a career-high 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting in a 74-62 win at TCU. For the week, he was 15-of-19 (.789) from the floor. It was Prices first ever WAC Player of the Week.
The other nominations were junior forward Jermaine Blackburn, Boise State; junior forward/center Mustafa Al-Sayyad, Fresno State; senior guard Michael Kuebler, Hawaii; freshman forward/center Paul Millsap, Louisiana Tech; junior guard Jason McKrieth, Rice; and junior guard Filiberto Rivera, UTEP.
