Hawai`i's Kamana`o Named National Freshman of the Year; Four Named to All-America Team

The American Volleyball Coaches Association named their All-American teams with three Rainbow Wahine, Kim Willoughby, Lily Kahumoku and Kanoe Kamana`o, named.Fresno State's Kristen Fenton was named an honorable mention All-America.

Willoughby was named a first-team All-American for the third-straight season. She became UH's first three-time first-teamer since Teee Williams from 1987-89 and Deitre Collins from 1981-1983.
Kahumoku was named to the second team after being a firt-team honoree in 2000 and 2002. She is one of just five Hawai`i players who was named an All-American three times.

Kamana`o was named to the All-American third team, while earning AVCA National Freshman of the Year honors. She became UH's first-ever national freshman of the year and just the second Hawai`i freshman to earn All-American honors during her freshman year.

Fresno State junior outside hitter Kristen Fenton (Marysville, Mich.) was selected to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Team. Fenton is now the second Bulldog to be honored as an All-American, as she joins current assistant coach Ruth Lawanson, who was named CVCA/Russell Athletic All-America First Team in 1984.
