Antonio Meeking
DENVER Louisiana Tech forward Antonio Meeking has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens basketball player of the week for February 3-9.

Meeking, a senior from Farmerville, La. (Farmerville HS), averaged 25.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of wins last week. On Thursday, Meeking picked up his fourth double-double of the season with 27 points and 10 rebounds against Hawaii. Two nights later, he scored 23 points against San Jose State and blocked two shots, including one in the last seconds that could have forced the game into overtime. For the week, he shot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) from the field and led the Bulldogs in scoring in both games.

It was Meekings first ever WAC player of the week award and first for a Bulldog this year.

The other nominations were junior forward Renaldo Major, Fresno State; sophomore guard Kirk Snyder, Nevada; sophomore forward/guard Jason McKrieth, Rice; senior guard/forward Quinton Ross, SMU; and senior guard Dante Swanson, Tulsa.
