DENVER SMUs Hannes Hopley has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Hopley, a sophomore from Rutenberg, South Africa, was the top attached finisher in the mens discus at the College Station Relays hosted by Texas A&M. In his first outdoor meet of season, Hopley threw the discus a distance of 61.43m to qualify for regionals in Lincoln, Neb.

DENVER Tulsas Shana Robinson has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Robinson, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes in her first outdoor meet of the season at the Arkansas-Little Rock Open. She regionally qualified in the 100 meters, posting a time of 11.74. In the 200 meters, she crossed at 24.35. This is the third-year that Robinson has one atleast one event in her first outdoor outing.
