Stamford, CT - Tulsa junior guard Jason Parker and Hawaii junior guard Carl English were both named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-America third-team as announced today.
Parker has maintained a 3.57 grade point average in management information systems while English has a 3.28 GPA in business administration.
Parker has started all 27 games this year, and is averaging 15.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He leads Tulsa in scoring, assists and steals and has scored in double-figures in 22 games.
English leads the WAC in scoring with 19.6 points per game. He has started all 25 games for the Rainbow Warriors and also averages 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.
To be eligible for the team, players must possess at least a 3.20 overall grade point average and be a starter or top reserve. Both players were selected as first-team Verizon All-District performers last month.
