DENVER -- Louisiana Techs Billy Threets has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Threets, a senior from Grand Prairie, Texas, won the 400-meter hurdles at the ULM Indian Classic. His time of 51.64 is the fastest in the WAC this season and is a NCAA regional qualifying mark.

Rices Allison Beckford has been named the Western Athletic Conference womens Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Beckford, a senior from Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, successfully defended her title at the Drake Relays, taking home top honors in the 400-meter hurdles. She won the race with a time of 55.86, over one second faster than second place. She also helped the Owls win the 4x400 meter relay, topping instate rival Baylor and eighth ranked Stanford, with a time of 3:35.90.
