Dane Bubela-Rice
DENVER Rice outfielder/designated hitter Dane Bubela and Louisiana Tech right-handed pitcher Jon Lockwood have been named the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for May 5-11.

Bubela, a senior from Houston, Texas (Cypress Falls HS/Blinn College), hit .444 (8-for-18) with seven RBI, seven runs scored and two home runs in four games for the Owls last week. Bubela began the week with a 2-for-5 performance against Sam Houston State. In three games at Nevada, he was 5-for-13 with six RBI and two home runs. On Friday, he was 2-for-5 with a home run and a career-high five RBI.
