DENVER Nevada forward Kristin Anderson and Hawaiis Mahie Atay have been named the Western Athletic Conference womens soccer offensive and defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Anderson, a freshman from South Pasadena, Calif., scored three goals in two matches for the Wolf Pack, helping them to a 2-0 record on the weekend. Anderson scored the game-winner in a 2-1 win over Northern Arizona, while she registered both goals in the Packs 2-1 win over Pacific. The back-to-back wins are the programs first since the 2000 season.
Atay, a sophomore from Wailuku, Oahu, helped Hawaii to a pair of road shutouts, knocking off CS Northridge, 2-0, and Long Beach State, 1-0. She registered four saves versus Northridge and five against the Long Beach. Atay owns a 1.03 GAA for the season.
