DENVER Hawaiis Dena Quick has been named the Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week.
Quick, a junior from Hermantown, Minn., competed in two meets last week, the Duke Kahanamoku Sprint and Aileen Soule Classic, both in Honolulu. At the Duke, Quick placed third (out of 63) in the 50 Free with a time of 24.49. She also anchored the 200 Medley Relay team to a second-place finish and time of 1:46.17. At the Aileen, she won the 50 Free, posting a time of 24.30. Quick earned a time of 54.65 in the 100 Free, landing her third. She was also a member of the winning 400 Medley Relay team (3:40.18).
